Diganta Oza is a right hand batsman in the field of Assamese media and literature. By nature he is defensive, but whenever necessary plays risky shots too. He prefers to judge himself as a good fielder. He can move the ball depending on the situation as well. In his schooldays Diganta Oza wanted to be a scientist, but crash-landed in the field of social science and journalism at the whim of destiny. His interest stuns from philosophy to science to literature etc. That is why he wants to do a lot, but till now the only substantial thing he has done successfully is chasing the mirage.

Diganta has a few books in Assamese to his credit — 1. Asomiya Samaj Jibanar Bibarttan, a research work on formation of the Assamese society, 2.  Pratham Mahasamar , sociological analysis of the background of the World War 1 and its impact on the politics, culture and  philosophy of humanity, 3. Sandhikhyanat Manuh (a philosophical introspection of civilization), 4.  Sahityar Dristi aru Sristi, a collection of literary criticism, 5. Jibanar Gadya (a collection of socio-philosophical essays on men and society), 6. Jehadi, a biographical novel, etc. Now he is busy with the basic problems of the Assamese society and the 19th centuries Assam. His Asomiya Samaj Jibanar Bibarttan is widely discussed in Assamese media. Even an In interview, based on this book has published in the North East Review. Though a pauper in the materialistic scale, the precious asset Diganta Oza possesses, as he consider, is his honesty. Dont know why, he has awarded with prestigious MUNIN BARKATAKY AWARD for 2009, for his book Sandhikhyanat Manuh. Besides, he has edited Grantha, the first Assamese periodical on book review. He is the sixth child of Ms. (Late) Renu Oza and (late) Ramen Oza.
